10th Annual Golf tournament

The Rotary Club of Princes Town held its 10th Annual Charity Golf Tournament at Millennium Lakes Golf & Country Club in Trincity on Sunday 20th June 2010. A healthy breakfast preceded the shotgun start at 11am The overcast conditions and the almost constant drizzle, made the water logged golf course unyielding but this certainly did not deter the golfers and a very interesting game ensued. The tournament concluded at 3pm and all participants enjoyed a wonderful three course lunch/supper catered by Muscovy Restaurant of Millennium Lakes Golf & Country Club. The overall tournament winners were Mr. Craig La Croix and Mr. Mark Maingot – team Bestcrete (see Pic# 05391) A 21" inch LCD TV was donated by RASH Electronics from Princes Town, for a raffle where all golfers participated, this LCD TV was won by Mark Magalhaes ( see Pic# 05417 ) All the proceeds from this Charity Golf Tournament and from this entire project will assist us in our continuing efforts to help those who are in need. Some of our projects include… 1. The provision of food and food supplies, clothes, shelter, medicine, medical surgery, artificial limbs, wheel chairs, etc. 2. Career guidance and apprenticeship programs. 3. University Scholarships to those students who possess the potential but lack the funding to acquire this level of education. 4. Free medical/community clinics to rural areas where there is limited access to health centers and health care. 5. As part of international efforts we encourage and support the Rotary Youth Leadership Awards and Conference, held annually in the Caribbean. 6. We are involved in the support of the Rotary Youth Exchange Program, which helps in the development of youths, within the region and the international community.
