On Wednesday 31st October 2012 the Rotary Club of Princes Town hosted its first join meeting for the Rotary year 2012/2013.

The meeting which included the Rotary Clubs of Felicity/Charlieville, Chaguanas and San Fernando South was held in true southern elegance at Doc’s Ranch, Phillipines and was graced with the presence of District Governor Dr. Stephen Ramroop, Club Presidents Capildeo Beharry, Terrance Beepath, Ronald Rampersad, Vernessa Sankar, a number of District 7030 officials and a large presence of Rotarians.

Dinner was an excellent buffet prepared by the staff at Doc’s Ranch followed by a delightful dessert platter.

Following upon an entertaining address by the District Governor who presented a dilemma for resolution, we were privileged to have our guest speaker Attorney at Law, Certified Mediator/Mediation Trainer Kathy Gonzales, provide an immediate resolution to the delight of the audience.

Kathy with her easy style engaged her audience with informative conversation on conflict resolution highlighting the importance of having proper structures in place for dealing with conflict in the context of voluntary organisations as is Rotary.

She gave many live examples of the different ways in which conflict could arise and proffered ready solutions as guidelines to its management and resolution.

Kathy’s presentation was well appreciated and she was presented with a live orchid as a token of our appreciation.

In the spirit of Halloween Sergeant at Arms Peter Chang raffled a glass skull filled with premium vodka and the meeting ended at 8:30 p.m. with fellowship thereafter at the bar.
