The Club’s 2012 Golf Tournament was held at the Usine Ste. Madeleine Golf Course on Sunday May 6th 2012. The venue, being the only golf course in Princes Town and environs, continues to be an attraction with its scenic pond and rolling hills.

This year, 38 teams played for the coveted Rotarian Raubin Harnarine Trophy and many special prizes. The winning team of Kelvin Bridgelalsingh and Navin Ramsingh was sponsored by Lutchmeesingh Transport Services. Former West Indian cricket great Gordon Greenidge won the raffle and took home a Stereo/Audio system donated by RASH Electronics.

The day was packed with activities, beginning with registration and breakfast of sandwiches, fruit and sweetbread at 8:30 a.m. Tee-Off was at 10:00 a.m. and rain did not deter players from partaking of hot doubles, aloo pies, refreshing watermelon slices and cold drinks at the watering hole later in the day.

The prize giving was held over a buffet dinner later that evening where players and Rotarians relaxed and fellowship together. Past President Peter reminded the players and sponsors present that they were not only enjoying the sport of golf by being part of the tournament but that they were also helping people who are in great need in our country.

It was an end to yet another Rotary Club of Princes Town event which brought much needed funds for the Club to carry out the work of Rotary!
