The Rotary club of Princes Town held its 27th Handover ceremony on the 27th June at Canton Palace Restaurant & Lounge San Fernando. Outgoing President Jamir Ousman reviewed the fantastic year focusing on the work of Rotary which included distributing gifts to children and hampers to families for Christmas, Rotary Awareness at C3 Centre, Medical outreach clinic at Cunjal Princes Town,donations of wheel chairs and walkers, coastal clean-up and donations of scholarships. Outgoing President recognized Rotarian's and individuals who made meaningful contributions during his year of presidency.

 
The Paul Harris award was awarded to outgoing secretary Crystal Ann Harper and outgoing service projects director Rhea Nobbee, whist incoming President Rishi Ramlogan was awarded the "Rotarian of the Year". Rotarians Rudranath, Lindsey, Andrea and partner in service Narisha Mohammed were awarded "Above and Beyond" service pins. Rotarian's Stephan, Michael and Hamza were awarded "Silent Rotarian", Rotarian's Patsy and Zobida, "I Love Rotary", Rotarian's Bashir, Ryan, Amraz and Jhavon, "Spirit of Rotary", "Charter" to Rotarian's Ronald, Jamir and Capil, whilst "100%" pins were awarded to Rotarians Andrea, Ronald, Crystal, Darren, Rishi, Rhea, Jamir and AG Debbie. Honorary membership was awarded to Businessmen Mr. Selwyn Hakim and Mr. Sair Ali.
 
The mantle of leadership was passed to new President Rishi Ramlogan. Mr. Ramlogan an Information Technology Management professional has been an active member of the club for the past 8 years and has served in various directorship capacities. In his acceptance speech he outlined the vision of the new board's plan to assist schools in the Princes Town district to improve their educational facilities and improve on the use of technology in response to the recovery from the Covid-19 pandemic. This is aligned to Rotary International's theme for this year Rotary Opens Opportunities. The club's environmental strategies were also highlighted for the upcoming year with new projects for primary school education, tree planting exercises and beach clean-ups being planned.
