Club Eid Celebration 2016
CLUB EID CELEBRATION
On Wednesday 13th July 2016 the Club at its first regular meeting for 2016 celebrated with partners in service, family members and friends the occasion of Eid at San Fernando Hill.
Newly elected President Debbie Roopchand welcomed everyone and shared briefly her vision for the Club during this Rotary year. Guest speaker Imam Nizam Mohammed gave an enlightening discourse based on the Holy Quoran and echoed the President's call to Rotarians to focus on "what are you doing for others".
The programme was chaired by Rotarian Hafiz Ali and included special prayers by Rotarian Jamir Ousman and child of Rotary Nabeel Mohammed. Traditional songs were sung by Rotarians Capildeo Beharry and Amraz Alibocas and special guest singer Syed Hosein.
Attendees were delighted by the special performance of a Duha/Cassida by children of Rotary Rehan and Sahalie Ali.
Rotarian Terrance Gopaul moved a special vote of thanks to all persons involved in making the occasion special, particularly our Club Administration Director Rishi Ramlogan who successfully coordinated the event and attendees enjoyed traditional sawine and sweets with the specially catered dinner for the occasion.
