CONTINUED CHARITABLE WORKS AND GIVING IN THE SPIRIT OF CHRISTMAS –

On Sunday the 07th December 2014 President Jamir Ousman and members of the Rotary Club of Princes Town Trinidad and Tobago in their continued efforts to “Light up Rotary” conducted a medical outreach and Christmas treat at Fonrose Village, Poole.

The outreach was well attended by members of the Community with a steady flow of attendees from 9:30 a.m. who sought to access the range of different services provided by the Club including testing for diabetes, hypertension and cholesterol.

Doctor Ronald Gobin and Doctors Mr. & Mrs. Premanand provided free medical services for persons seeking medical attention and Dentist Dr. Stephan Nanan provided dental services for persons seeking such services.

The Club also had on hand its member Attorney at Law Debbie Roopchand who conducted a legal aid clinic for persons requiring legal advice.

Volunteer nurses from the Princes Town District rendered their services together with dedicated Rotarians and their partners in service who were present.

The club was pleased to have in attendance District Governor Elwin Atmodimedjo and partner in service Maureen who participated fully in the outreach programme, meeting and greeting Rotarians and members of the Community.

Free medication, clothing and hampers were distributed to attendees and a total of 75 persons were recorded as having registered at the clinic towards accessing the various services.

At around noon to the delight of approximately 60 children of the Community there was a special appearance of Rotarian Rudolph Ali dressed as Santa Claus who showered them with candy and gifted them with toys.

The Club records its thanks to Mr. Seelal Mathura President of the Fonrose Village Council who assisted in co-ordinating the members of the Community’s attendance at the event and to all the Doctors, Nurses, Rotarians and partners in service who attended and assisted in ensuring an efficient and successful conduct of the outreach.

The outreach came to a close at about 1:30 p.m. and President Jamir thereafter hosted the District Governor, partner in service Maureen and Rotarians at his home for a late luncheon.
