April 22 is Earth Day and we at the Rotary Club of Princes Town were determined more than ever to do our part in supporting Rotary’s 7th Pillar of Focus (Supporting the Environment).
The goal of the Earth Day Challenge was simple – RECYCLE as much as possible! Two weeks prior to Earth Day, we were challenged to recycle as much as possible to raise an awareness of how much we recycle instead of throwing away and in so doing encourage us to be more mindful of the impact of our choices on the environment.
Special focus was placed on plastic bottles which are of particular concern as they make up a larger part of recyclable materials that ends up in landfills. Other items were aluminium cans, tin cans, aerosol cans, tetra packs and cardboard.
