The Rotary Club of Princes Town in its mandate “Service above Self “joined with the Cunjal Muslim community in observing the holy month of Ramadan. As such the Club hosted a Charity project at the Cunjal Road Mosque on Saturday 8th June 2019.
Food hampers were distributed to deserving people in the community and treat bags to fifty (50) children. The program was conducted by the President of the Cunjal Road Mosque Mrs. Rasheeda Ali.
The Rotary Club's President Crystal Ann Harper gave a brief address and the featured speaker was Imam Dr. Hamza Rafeek. The children sang two beautiful Islamic renditions which the crowd sang along too. Present were President Crystal Ann Harper, Secretary Jamir Ousman, Rotarians Capil Beharry and Rhea Nobee, partner in service Tara Ousman and friend of Rotary Carol Arjoon.
The members of the mosque presented President Crystal with a copy of the Holy Qur’an and a sum of one thousand ($1,000) Dollars. The Club wishes to extend to the members of the Cunjal Mosque our deepest gratitude for their kind gifts and a well-organized function. Refreshments were also provided by the member of the Mosque.
