Our Club celebrated the occasion of Eid-ul Fitr on September 07, 2011 at the Ste. Madeleine Regional Complex.
Our feature speaker for the evening, Maulana Rishad Hosein of the Dar Ul Barakaat in Barrackpore enlightened the members and their families on the significance of Eid.  He stressed the need for family values and then highlighted the similarities in Islam and Rotary as both serve the less fortunate in society.

The audience was mesmerized by the melodious voice of President Elect Capil as he rendered a quaseeda or Islamic song.  The program also featured delightful performances by children of Rotary, Nabeel Mohammed and Kyle Ali, who recited verses of the Holy Quran.  Specially invited singer, Haroon Ali, serenaded the audience with two enchanting quaseedas which were well received.

Everyone enjoyed a traditional  Eid dinner of curried goat, chicken, rice, pumpkin, curried channa and potato, salad and roti.  Sawine was served as dessert as well as traditional sweets such as barfi, gulab jamoon, dates, and kurma.
