MEDICAL OUTREACH AT TORTUGA

The first medical outreach program for the 2016/17 Rotary year was held on August 7th 2016 in the lovely village of Tortuga at the Tortuga Government Primary School.

Medical Outreach programs are signature events of The Rotary Club of Princes Town. The free services provided included blood pressure testing, blood glucose testing, cholesterol testing, Doctor’s examination, vision & dental screening, legal advice and distribution of prescription drugs, toiletries & clothes.

Many Rotarians, spouses and their children were present to assist with the medical. Doctors present included Dr.Rao, Dr.Kumar, Dr. Praim Preman, Dr.Kiran Premanand and Dr Stefan Nanan. They were assisted by nurses Anna and Ramona. Total Care Pharmacy was represented by Ava Ramsaroop who dispensed all prescription drugs and Qwellcor Limited, represented by Mr Kishore Bissoon, was on hand to distribute sample vitamins. Pharm Tech Ltd and Handel’s Pharmacy donated pharmaceutical items. Attorneys present included President Debbie Roopchand and Ms Crystal Harper.

Sixty patients of varying ages were seen by the doctors present. All services offered were well received by the community.
