In the Club’s continuous effort to encourage healthy lifestyles and bring medical attention to rural communities, the first Medical of this Rotary year was held at the Santa Maria RC Primary School in Moruga on Sunday July 21st 2013.
Over one hundred (100) patients had their blood sugar, pressure and cholesterol tested before being seen by volunteer doctors and our own in house Rotarian doctors, Ronald Gobin and Kirby Panchoo. Volunteer Dentists, Dr. Paryag and Dr. Stephan Nanan were on hand for check ups and to give out important dental hygiene information.
The free legal clinic conducted by Rotarian Debbie Roopchand and Senior Counsel Ernest H. Koylass, helped villagers to not only understand some of the government programs and facilities that be helpful, but to also advise them on land and family matters. The Club also provided free toiletries to patients and the usual clothes distribution was conducted by Rotarian Patsy Chankersingh and the Partners in Service.
