The Rotary Club of Princes Town welcomed President Bashir Mohammed for a second time as its President, this time for the year 2013 – 2014. President Bashir Mohammed took over the reigns of leadership from outgoing President Capildeo Beharry at the Club’s Presidential Hand Over Ceremony held at Canton Palace Restaurant on Saturday June 29th.

The Club took the opportunity at the function to highlight its work among the less fortunate and particularly their focus on the awareness and prevention of Diabetes. Present were some of the nurses and health facilitators who were instrumental in implementing the Club’s Diabetes Campaign in Primary Schools.

This year the Rotary Club of Princes Town celebrated it’s 20th anniversary and is proud to still have 7 of the original Charter members still active in the Club.

As one of the many people assisting the Club, Ms. Jacqui Koon How of the famous “House of Jacqui” was made an Honorary Rotarian of the Club for her professional contribution to one of the Club’s signature events, The Annual Tea Party and Fashion Show. Through this event, the organization was able to make a financial contribution to the Diabetes Association of Trinidad & Tobago along with an HBA1C blood testing machine.

In his inaugural speech President Bashir spoke of Rotary’s theme for the year 2013-2014, “Engaging Rotary Changing Lives” and outlined the Club’s commitment to positively impacting the communities with our services.
