Annual Choka Fest

 

 

Dear all,

 

Once again, the Rotary Club of Princes Town received tremendous support for our annual Choka Fest fund rasing project. This fund rasing project was hosted on Saturday October 9th,  2010 at the Usine St. Madeline Sports and Golf Club (by the pond).

 

This was our (14) fourteenth year for this particular event, and the funds received will continue to provide assistance to our physically and financially challenged neighbours within the Princes Town area and the environs. 
 
 Choka Fest 

 

 

Dear all,

 

Once again, the Rotary Club of Princes Town received tremendous support for our annual Choka Fest fund rasing project. This fund rasing project was hosted on Saturday October 9th,  2010 at the Usine St. Madeline Sports and Golf Club (by the pond).

 

This was our (14) fourteenth year for this particular event, and the funds received will continue to provide assistance to our physically and financially challenged neighbours within the Princes Town area and the environs.

 

This project takes the form of a dinner of locally prepared indigenous foods with approximately sixteen (16) dishes (chokas) served with either whole wheat or white sada roti that is prepared and cooked on-site. 

 

A wonderful display comprising of locally grown peppers, fruits, vegetables and various types of seasoning plants was created by Mrs. Tara Ousman - wife of past president (P.P.) Jamir Ousman.

Music was supplied by DJ Adesh Beephan, and all in attendance enjoyed the soothing R&B sounds of Mr. Victor Churraman on his acuoustic guitar.

Later on, soca/chutney artist Herralal Rampertap also deligted the crowd with several saucy renditions from his repotoire. 

 

Over five hundred (500) tickets were sold.

  

We would like to thank the active participation of some of our more outstanding corporate citizens in helping us bring a bit of comfort in the lives of some of the needy.
