ROTARY PARTNERS WITH CEREBRAL PALSY SOCIETY OF TRINIDAD AND TOBAGO– HEALTH FAIR

In keeping with Rotary’s 2016/17 Theme of “Rotary Serving Humanity”, the Rotary Club of Princes Town partnered with the Cerebral Palsy Society of Trinidad and Tobago http://cpstt.tripod.com to host a Health Fair for cerebral palsy patients.

This event was held on Saturday 13th August 2016 at the Naparima College Auditorium, San Fernando.

The primary objective of this partnership is to enhance the lives of cerebral palsy patients and to provide support to their caregivers. The Society organised the health fair and provided a foreign specialised physiotherapist and dentist, while the club enlisted the support of existing medical outreach doctors: Dr. Sunita Mathur Lal, Dr. Pramod Lal, Dr. Premanand Nakkana, Dr. Kiran Premanand Nakkana and Dr. Shweta Agarwal.

Services provided by Rotarians included blood sugar and blood pressure testing while specialized hampers including toiletries and other supplies were distributed to families. Rotarians and their partners in service were present to assist with the facilitation of the Health Fair and distribution of hampers.

The Rotary Club of Princes Town has recognised that increased awareness of cerebral palsy is needed in Trinidad and Tobago and the specialised care and resources required are not readily available. The Club has therefore partnered with the Cerebral Palsy Society to improve the lives of those diagnosed with cerebral palsy and their families.
