The Rotary Club of Princes Town held its Handover Ceremony at Canton Palace Restaurant & Lounge, Cross Crossing, San Fernando on Saturday 25th June 2011.

Outgoing President 2010-2011 Seunarine “Kex” Sanmook presented Incoming President 2011-2012 Bashir Mohammed with his President’s Pin and officially handed him his Instruments of Appointment.  Incoming President Bashir spoke of Rotary International’s Theme for 2011 – 2012 “Reach within to Embrace Humanity”. Compliant with this theme, the Rotary Club of Princes Town has designated “Change Comes from Within” as their theme for 2011-2012.

Incoming President Bashir stated that "in order for us to reduce poverty or to protect the environment by reducing our carbon footprint or moulding the youth of our community into the leaders of tomorrow, we must be the instruments of change.  We must lead by example. By obeying litter laws, we can reduce flooding by not clogging waterways with garbage.  By adopting a healthier lifestyle and eating habits, we can take control of our blood sugar levels to prevent the onset of diabetes and other diseases."   He also proposed that "as we engage in quality time with our family, our children will begin to appreciate our morals and values and consequently adopt those values as they observe our interactions with others around us."

Outgoing President 2010-2011 Seunarine “Kex” Sanmook showcased the Club’s achievements for the year which culminated in recognition of the Club at the District 7030 level with the Presidential Citation award, Club of the Year award and Best Attendance for Small Clubs award.
