The members of the club have reason to celebrate as on Monday 22nd August, 2011, Rotarians together with Principal Pariag, teachers and students of the Princes Town Presbyterian school #2 planted saplings, chiefly, pink poui and pine on the school’s compound.

The club will conduct another tree planting exercise at Sattar Avenue, St Croix Road playground and the Princes Town District Health Facility.

Rotarians are seeking your assistance in developing opportunities for enhancing the environment.

President of Rotary International, K. Banerjee has challenged Rotary clubs to look for opportunities to reduce environmental degradation and Rotary clubs across the world have been encouraged to plant trees.

During the exercise, while most of us had to quench our thirst or snack on the delicious pelau and stew chicken provided by the staff of the school, President Bashir and Rotarian Jim who were fasting showed real fortitude. Truly, “reach within to embrace humanity,” this year’s Rotary’s theme.

Special thanks to President Bashir, Rotarians Terry, Selwyn and Jim, the Forestry Division and Arion Joseph.
