Rotary Fun and Family Day 2016

On Saturday 31st July 2016, the Rotary Club of Princes Town held their annual Fun and Family Day at Palmiste Grounds. Rotarians Kex, Hafiz, Vishnu and Ria started things off in the morning, firing up the grill for some mouth-watering BBQ and bubbling a huge pot for some delicious provision.

After a sumptuous meal of provision, oil down, macaroni pie, curried duck and BBQ chicken, we started the games with Pictionary. The dynamic team of Rotarian Rudy, partners in service Yvette and Laura and our Colombian guest Gustavo proved unbeatable, although, the opposing team of Rotarian Curtis, partner in service Dianne and daughter of Rotarian Vishnu, Brianna put up a good fight! Rotarian Indira moderated the games and acted as the official photographer for the evening.

Next it was on to a test of our local Trini slang with the game “Doh Say Dat”. It seemed to be Rotarian Rudy’s day as yet again he was on the winning team…their celebration even included the “Champion Dance”! All Fours and Rummi were also in session with President Debbie getting her jack hung twice, but winning 3 out of 5 games.

A highlight was the watermelon eating contest where Rotarian Rudy was victorious winning for the third consecutive year. Next it was Soca musical chairs where veteran Rotarians Vilma and Kex claimed victory. Rotarian Vishnu’s daughter, Brianna won the kids musical chairs.

President Debbie closed a wonderfully relaxing evening with a vote of thanks.
