World Immunization Week

Celebrated in the last week of April each year – aims to highlight the collective action needed to ensure that every person is protected from vaccine-preventable diseases and to promote the use of vaccines to protect people of all ages against disease.

We share some pictures of our work to raise awareness of the part that vaccines play in saving lives — as well as of the critical need to continue supporting global polio vaccination for children and other life-saving vaccines for all.

Because of Vaccinations many diseases have been eradicated locally. Trinidad and Tobago recorded its last case of mumps in 2006, measles in 1997, rubella in 1997, yellow fever in 1979 and Polio in 1972.
