Bringing joy to kids at Christmas
The Board of Directors at its monthly meeting on Saturday 3rd. December, 2011 approved the following schools and institution for the distribution of gift bags, treat bags and hampers as part of the club’s on-going charitable projects.
The schools approved were Princes Town Presbyterian No.2 (430 students) and Reform Hindu School (101 students), while approval was given for seventy five (75) items of toys to the Princes Town District Health Facilities.
The actual preparation of the items was done on the 13 & 14th. at Rotarian Jim's home.
The treat was done on the 15th December, 2011 at the schools. At Reform, one hundred and one (101) students were treated. Food Hampers were given to twelve (12) needy parents. The following persons were present: President Bashir, Rotarians Capil, Wayne, Vilma, Wendy, Indira , Jim and Partner in Service Tara.
At Princes Town Presbyterian No.2, four hundred and thirty (430) students were given treat bags and toys. Twenty three (23) food hampers were given to needy parents. The following persons were present: President Bashir, Rotarians Capil, Wayne and Jim. Also partners in service Tara, Narisha and Debbie together with her daughter, Amy; and not forgetting the main man, Santa Claus-Rotarian Rudolph.
Special thanks to partners in service Narisha and Tara together with Rotarian Vilma who did the purchasing of the toys and gift items. Special thanks to all those who assisted in the packaging of the toys and gift bags. The club also extends its heartfelt thanks to Yasmin Mohammed of New York for donating toys and gift items towards the treat.
