Tropical Storm Brett made landfall in Southern Trinidad and Tobago on May 19th, 2017 leaving behind many residents displaced from their homes due to damage from high winds and floods. The residents of Kent St., and Coconut Drive, Williamsville were no different, having much of their household items washed away by the high flood waters.
 
Now in the aftermath of the storm and in the midst of cleanup activities, the Rotary Club of Princes Town mobilized its members and supporters to provide assistance in the form of distributing cleanup supplies, basic medical supplies, personal hygiene items to over 65 families. In addition, a team of doctors were mobilized to conduct a health assessment of each family.
 
The Rotarians and Partners-in-Service assembled at the home of Rotarian Rishi Ramlogan on Saturday, July 1st, 2017 to pack the items for distribution. and again, on Sunday, July 2nd, 2017, along with the doctors to conduct the distribution of the items as well as conduct the medical health assessment.
 
The Rotary Club of Princes Town would like to extend its sincere gratitude and appreciation to the efforts by its members, their families, the team of doctors – Dr. Ronald Gobin, Dr. Carlyn Rajnarinesingh, Dr. Kiran Premanand, Dr. Prem Premanand and Dr. Mariyah Shah and to the various companies that donated some of the items. These included Len Hap Supermarket, Parkway Pharmacy, Interchem limited, Massy Distribution, Smith Robinson & Company and Anthony P Scott Limited. Assistance from the community were also provided by the COSMOS Sports Club, Councillor for the area – Ms Vashti Sookoo and the management of the Williamsville Community Centre.
